Dear members of UNIAPAC Europe,

As you know, the 10th edition of the Ethics & Trust in Finance Global Prize, organised by the Observatoire de la Finance, was launched on 18 June 2024.The Global Prize’s 10th anniversary provided the perfect milestone to reflect on the Prize’s journey, its key achievements and the contributions of its Strategic Partners to support a more ethical, transparent, fairer and sustainable financial industry. It was a unique opportunity to innovate by expanding participation opportunities for young candidates, while providing new options for corporations and professional associations active in the financial sector.

As the winners of the 10th edition of the Global Prize “Ethics & Trust in Finance for a Sustainable Future” are about to be celebrated, we are very pleased to invite you to attend the Award Ceremony, which will be held on Tuesday 30 September, 4:00 pm in Brussels, Belgium.

The event will also be accessible online. Registration is required for both options (online or on-site).

The Jury has selected a shortlist of nine nominated essays:

  1. “Why publicly-listed companies should split their stock”, by Mr. Rowan Brouwers;
  2. “Strategy to Promote Financial Inclusion in Vulnerable Regions of the State of Puebla”, by Mrs. Jennifer Casco Cortes;
  3. “Emissions Rights and Environmental Justice”, by Mr. Paul Forrester;
  4. “Ethical Frameworks for AI Credit Scoring”, by Mr. Nicolas Koenig;
  5. “Market Makers or Market Manipulators? Emerging Technologies and The Ethics of High-Frequency Trading”, by Mrs. Bessie O’Dell;
  6. “Unethical Taxpayer vs. Unethical State. About Abuses of Both Sides of the Tax Relationship”, by Mr. Jan Sobuś;
  7. “Beyond Financial Literacy: Trust and the Societal Construct as Barriers to European Capital Markets Growth”, by Mr. Micael Veras Dos Santos;
  8. “Building Trust in Fintech through Data Cooperatives: A New Paradigm for Ethical Data Governance”, by Mr. Moses Wangari;
  9. “Ethics in a Buy Now, Pay Later World: Do Innovative Lending Models Pave the Way to Unconscious Indebtedness?”, by Mr. Mateusz Zarzycki.

The winners and their respective awards will be announced during the Ceremony. Each winner will have an opportunity to briefly present his/her work.
